As a member of Braintree Rivers, you can make new friends, enjoy many exciting social events and become involved in various fundraising activities.

We are a group of friendly people, wishing to help others while enjoying ourselves. If you like socialising and networking, then we are sure our social events program which includes meals out, barbeques, pub visits, family days out, quizzes and beer tasting to name a few will be of interest.

Rotary club members have the opportunity to carry out fundraising work for local, national and international charities. For example, we hold tin collections (sometimes with the help of Santa!) and games evenings to raise money for charity.

Why not e-mail us at info@brr.org.uk to find out more. We always welcome visitors to our meetings, where you can meet us to learn more about who we are and what we do.

London Mookwalk

Sue and Mechel Moonwalk

Mechel Rowe and Sue Wallbank

On the 14th of May, Sue Wallbank from Braintree Rivers Rotary Club and Mechel Rowe of Braintree and Bocking Rotary Club completed the London Moonwalk, which involved walking 26.2 miles around London at night with 15,000 other participants all dressed in decorated bras!

The Moonwalk is organised by Walk the Walk, a charity that searches out projects and campaigns involved with breast cancer and grants funds to where they know it will make the most difference. It is their policy to look at projects that perhaps would not easily find funding, and to those that could take many years to achieve their goals and assist them in reaching them in a shorter time.

Walk the Walk has encouraged over 250,000 people to take on a walking challenge, and raised in excess of £55 million. The London MoonWalk is now 13 years old and continues to support Breakthrough Breast Cancer with specific research projects.

Congratulations to Sue and Mechel, who raised over £2000.
