Why Join Braintree Rivers Rotary?
Friendship, Fun and Entertainment
Rotarians are friendly, caring people who help others in their local community and throughout the world. Membership of a Rotary Club provides friendship and fellowship, while helping others through club service projects and enjoying social activities. Rotary membership is fun, helping others is fun and social activities are fun. We organise a varied social event program, some events are purely social, some charity fundraising events and others open to other clubs.
International Awareness
With approximately 33,000 clubs in over 200 countries & geographical areas, Rotarians gain an understanding of humanitarian issues through international service projects and exchange programs. Rotarians encourage high ethical standards and carry out humanitarian projects to address such issues as poverty, health, hunger, education, and protecting the environment. One of Rotary's highest objectives is to build goodwill and peace throughout the world.
Personal Growth, Development and Networking
Membership in Rotary provides many avenues for personal development, fulfillment, and networking. Members come together from all walks of life to help each other, form friendships and make a difference in their community. Becoming a Rotarian offers the chance to do something for somebody else and sense the self-fulfillment and satisfaction that comes from community service projects. It is richly rewarding. Rotary membership provides the opportunity to develop confidence and skills in public speaking, project management, public relations, event management, etc, through club service projects and work with the local community.
Open and diverse
Rotary clubs are non-political, non-religious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds. They are friendly and welcoming, have no secret handshake, no secret policy, no official creed and no secret meetings or rituals. Rotary is an open society of men and women who simply believe in helping others.
Membership responsibilities
As a member of Rotary, you will need to find time to attend twice monthly club meetings and as such, will probably live or work within the locality of the club and surrounding area. Pay an annual subscription, to fund the running costs of the local club, district committee and Rotary International.
